The documentary is about lives of the selected Ladakhi and Czech students and has been made in cooperation with the Polish NGO, Fundacja Nowa Ameryka (FNA). Over the course of 2010 - 2012, the Polish professional team of filmmakers will have visited both countries several times, in order to capture the important moments in the lives of the pilot school students. By using the personal stories of students, the documentary describes the specifics of their lives.
As the filmmakers were affected by the strong unexpected flooding during filming in August 2010, this theme will appear in the documentary too. Apart from this, the FNA has been also responsible for organizing film workshops for the selected students. In 2010, 12 students from every country, divided into 6 filming teams, underwent the introductory course in film work and produced their own short films. In the upcoming years of the project, the filmmakers will continue teaching them and consulting on the outcomes of their work.
The shots from their short films will appear in the final project documentary as well. The film will be available for download from the Multicultural Center Prague website in middle of 2012. It will also be shown to the public during the various promotional activities in 2012.
